Job summary

Evansdale Elementary School is seeking a Library Media Assistant to support teachers and students in the library media center. You will assist with locating materials, check-out, and maintaining collections while helping with lesson integration and technology use.

Under supervision, you will manage routine library operations, support instructional activities, and help run workshops and events that promote reading and digital literacy in a lively elementary environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 0–3 years related experience or Associate degree in Library Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with locating, checking out, and returning media materials.
• Provide information and assistance to students and teachers as appropriate.
• Maintain and organize library collections, including shelving, displays, and cleanliness.
• Support colleagues in instructional roles by maintaining library resources and assisting with lesson plans.
• Perform administrative tasks including records pertaining to fines, inventory, and files.
• Operate and troubleshoot technology within the library, distribute equipment, and teach equipment use.
• Collaborate with teachers to enhance library programs and promote children's literature while adhering to copyright laws.
• Conduct workshops and training sessions to facilitate effective use of LMC resources.
• Monitor LMC operations in the absence of the Teacher-Librarian.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
