Job summary

Brockett Elementary School in Tucker, GA, is seeking a Library Media Assistant to collaborate with teachers and design literacy‑enhancing lessons using media resources and technology.

You will assist students with reading and research, maintain the library collection and software, support classroom activities, manage routine administrative tasks, and help run workshops and school events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 0–3 years of related experience, or an Associate degree in Library Science, Information Studies, Education, or a related field with some relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with locating, checking out, and returning media materials.
• Provide information and assistance to students and teachers as appropriate.
• Maintain and organize library collections, including shelving and displays.
• Support instructional planning and classroom management with library resources.
• Handle financial records for fines, copy funds, and lost/damaged books.
• Operate and troubleshoot library technology and loan equipment.
• Collaborate with teachers on events and reading programs.
• Conduct workshops to facilitate use of LMC resources.
• Monitor LMC operations in the absence of the Teacher-Librarian.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
