Qualifications

• Minimum of three years experience in an elementary school setting is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the classroom teacher, helps to maintain and oversee a positive learning environment.
• Assists the teacher in implementing appropriate daily learning experiences that align with grade level practices and district mission.
• Collaborates with the teacher to help ensure informed decisions regarding curricular planning and classroom environment issues.
• Assists the teacher in providing any unique and/or special accommodations required for students.
• Helps the teacher promote a safe, secure, healthy learning environment.
• Works with others consistently in a cooperative and respectful manner.
• Provides individualized instruction to identified students and small groups in reading and mathematics.
• Plans instructional activities meeting students' needs, interests, and abilities in reading and mathematics.
• Advises teachers about students' progress during intervention and helps retrieve performance data.
