Job summary

Garfield Elementary in Enid, Oklahoma is seeking a Teacher Assistant-Interventionist to support classroom learning under the supervision of the principal. This role focuses on assisting with instructional tasks and ensuring a safe learning environment so students can succeed academically.

The position is a 9-month basis with a salary of $12 per hour and health insurance for the employee. Previous substitute teaching or paraprofessional experience is preferred, with required education as stated.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• 2 years post-secondary education (48 hours) or an Associate's Degree or higher or have passed required state tests.
• Evidence of, or willingness to, progress in instructional training opportunities.
• Alternative qualifications as the Board finds appropriate and acceptable.
• Substitute teaching or teaching assistant experience preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Assists children in classrooms with instructional tasks as assigned by the principal.
• Assists with classroom management to ensure safe and effective learning.
• Complies with safety and health procedures, school policies and regulations.
• Assists with classroom coverage to foster student safety.
• Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
• Other duties as assigned.
