Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Some college hours preferred; associate degree or 2 years post-secondary education may be required when Title funds apply.
• Possession of Tier 1 certification (PARAPRO or OGET) may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instruction and supervise students in instructional settings and during non-instructional times.
• Prepare, create, or adapt instructional materials and assist with equipment.
• Serve as chief information source for substitute teachers.
• Assist with student behavior management and alert the teacher to special needs.
• Grade student work; record grades; take attendance; complete necessary paperwork.
• May assist students with personal care needs and minor first aid.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the classroom and assist with bus routines.
• Operate photocopier, laminator and duplicator; assist in obtaining supplies.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
