MSD of Shakamak is seeking a dependable Elementary Instructional Assistant to support teachers in a safe, engaging learning environment for elementary students.

The role involves assisting with student activities, implementing learning plans, and maintaining professional collaboration with staff. Requires a high school diploma and ability to pass background checks; prior experience with young children is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must meet state and federal requirements for instructional assistants.
• Experience with elementary-aged children is preferred.
• Ability to follow instructional plans and directions with sound judgment.
• Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Patience, dependability, flexibility, and commitment to helping students succeed.
• Pass background checks and complete required employment documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to individual students and small groups under licensed teacher supervision.
• Reinforce classroom instruction and help students practice skills.
• Assist students with assignments, organization, and transitions.
• Support implementation of individual learning and behavior plans.
• Observe student progress and communicate with supervising teacher.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and staff.
