Job summary

The Kindezi Schools are seeking a Teacher Assistant to support academic interventions and classroom activities, helping to create a positive, safe learning environment. You will collaborate with teachers to implement phonics programs, monitor progress, and assist with instructional materials and routines.

Responsibilities include small group instruction, MTSS interventions, student supervision, and maintaining quality classroom practices under the guidance of principals.

Qualifications

• Be a United States citizen or otherwise have authorization to work in the United States.
• Pass an Atlanta Public Schools background check.
• Obtain a GaPSC-issued clearance certificate.
• Associates or Bachelor4 degree preferred.
• Knowledge/training in restorative practices, crisis management and de-escalation strategies are strongly preferred.
• Exceptional verbal communication skills.
• 2+ years of experience working with elementary and/or middle school students preferred.
• CPR and First Aid Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with general education and/or special education teachers to plan for small group or individualized academic interventions.
• Provide small group or individualized instruction to students.
• Administer benchmark assessments to determine student growth.
• Collect progress monitoring data for assigned students.
• Provide interventions at all MTSS tiers.
• Assist teachers with classroom organization and materials preparation.
• Form positive relationships and provide behavioral support to build socio-emotional skills.
• Supervise dismissal, meals, and other school functions requiring supervision.
• Substitute in classrooms when lead teachers are absent.
• Maintain a respectful classroom environment and report concerns.
