Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be Highly Qualified or able to complete necessary training within the first year of employment (ParaPathways Exams).
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged children in a school, tutoring, or childcare setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and young learners.
• Patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to supporting classroom needs.
• Ability to pass required state and district background checks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized instruction and small group lessons in reading, math, and writing.
• Reinforce classroom rules, help manage student behavior, and assist in maintaining a safe, inclusive learning space.
• Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, assemblies, and dismissal to ensure safety and order.
• Prepare teaching materials, organize learning centers, grade routine assignments, and set up classroom technology or equipment.
• Assist teachers in monitoring student progress, gathering assessment data, and recording observations to support learning goals.
• Provide tailored accommodations for students with diverse learning needs or English language learners as directed by individual plans.
