Job summary

Yoncalla School District is seeking an Elementary Instructional Assistant to support teachers and students in large and small groups and, at times, in one-on-one settings. The role includes instructional tasks, record keeping, and supervision with moderate supervision.

Responsibilities include implementing lessons, reinforcing skills, assisting with assessments and data, maintaining records, and communicating with staff. 165 days/year, 6.5 hours on site daily, with a 30-minute unpaid meal period.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent or 1 to 2 years' related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior successful experience working in a school setting or with children strongly preferred.
• Background check conducted.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students under the direction of the classroom teacher or special education teacher.
• Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic skills and classroom instruction.
• Assist with implementing lessons, learning activities, and classroom interventions.
• Support students in developing academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and organizational skills.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, recess, lunch, assemblies, field trips, and other assigned activities.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as assigned.
