Job summary

Santiam Elementary School, part of Santiam Canyon SD 129J, Mill City, Oregon, is hiring an Instructional Assistant to support classroom lessons and student engagement. The position runs 7.5 hours per day, four days per week, with 161 contract days and benefits per the Classified Agreement.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or higher, with two years of college or an Associate’s degree or passing the Oregon Paraprofessional Exam preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age and possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Fulfill one of the following criteria: two years of college, or an Associate’s degree or higher, or successfully passed the Oregon Paraprofessional Exam.
• Successful prior experience working with children preferred.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions, policies, procedures, and directions to complete duties accurately and safely.
• Work with students, staff, and administrators professionally and positively.
• Support students during lessons, small-group activities, and enrichment opportunities under licensed staff supervision.
