Job summary

Muskegon Public Schools in Michigan is seeking an Elementary ENCORE (Specials) Teacher for the 2026/2027 academic year. The position will serve at Oakview and Glenside Elementary, reporting to the Building Principal, with a schedule across daily specials.

Required are a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (or enrollment in a state-approved program leading to certification with endorsement ZG). Preferred: prior classroom experience and an Art endorsement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate as required by MDE.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate as required by MDE OR; Bachelor’s Degree and enrollment in a state-approved program leading to teacher certification with endorsement ZG.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate as required by MDE.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate as required by MDE OR; Bachelor’s Degree and enrollment in a state-approved program leading to teacher certification as required by MDE with the following endorsement(s): ZG.

Preferred

• Previous classroom teaching experience in a comparable district.
• LQ Art Endorsement

Salary/Benefits

• Commensurate with credentials and level of experience and in accordance with MPS salary schedule. Starting range $53,887-$78,454.
