Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor degree in education.
• PDE certification in special education required.
• 3–5 years experience with students with intellectual disabilities, autism and challenging behavior preferred.
• Experience modifying general education content for diverse needs.
• Clearances (police, child abuse & FBI) within one year of start date.

Responsibilities

• Instruct individuals in special education skill areas.
• Plan curriculum, lessons and programs; teach using appropriate methods.
• Evaluate and monitor student progress based on performance, tests, and behavior observations.
• Support objectives and interventions of the educational program.
• Maintain safe classroom environment and communicate with parents and professionals.
• Develop IEPs addressing academic, behavioral, and speech needs; maintain documentation.
