Job summary

Rochester Public Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to support classroom instruction under the supervision of a teacher. You will supervise students, including lunchroom and playground oversight in various weather conditions, and perform tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, or 60 college credits/2-year degree, with attendance reliability and basic computer skills preferred. Collaboration and positive rapport with children are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: 60 college semester credits and/or a two-year degree from an accredited college or university. Official transcript(s) must be included with application.
• In lieu of college credits or degree, one can complete the Paraeducator Assessments with passing scores (Minnesota reference).
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with elementary age students is preferred.
• Regular, on-time attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Working with students under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
• May monitor and/or supervise students in the lunchroom and on the playground in all types of weather.
• Performs tasks within the level of responsibility of position as assigned by the supervisor.
