Job summary

Rochester Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to work with students under the supervision of the classroom teacher. The role includes assisting with instructional tasks and supervising students during lunch and outdoor time in various weather.

This position supports elementary students and requires good teamwork and reliability. Ideal candidates have 60 college credits or a 2-year degree, or may complete the paraeducator assessments.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: 60 college credits and/or a two-year degree from an accredited college or university. Include official transcript(s).
• In lieu of college credits or degree, the Paraeducator Assessments may be completed; passing scores in Minnesota are 65% and 70%.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with elementary age students.
• Computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with students under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
• Monitor and/or supervise students in the lunchroom and on the playground in all types of weather.
• Perform tasks within the level of responsibility assigned by the supervisor.
