Job summary

Sioux Falls School District's Terry Redlin Elementary is seeking an Education Support Professional for the 2026-27 school year. The 0.875 FTE position supports students with disabilities, providing 1:1 and small-group assistance under a teacher's guidance, and helping maintain a structured, safe classroom environment.

Two years of post high school education or passing a state-approved test is required, with experience in disability support or behavior management preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of post high school education or higher, or pass a SD state-approved test for Education Assistant positions.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or behavior management experience.
• Must demonstrate ability to pass safety/physical requirements and support students with daily living needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in accessing transportation.
• Provide personal care to students with special daily living needs in accordance with safety competencies.
• Review and practice skills taught by the teacher 1:1 or in small groups within SPED or regular classrooms.
• Work with students in school and community sites.
• Prepare instructional materials as directed by the teacher.
• Reinforce instructional/behavioral objectives with students as directed.
• Maintain confidentiality of students and families.
• Assist with management of student behavior.
