Job summary

Clayville Elementary School in Scituate, Rhode Island seeks a General Education Paraprofessional for 32.5 hours per week (Part-time, school year). Under supervision of the classroom teacher, the paraprofessional assists students with academic work in regular classrooms and supports instructional activities.

Qualifications

• Requires current BCI with fingerprinting.
• Bachelor’s degree or ParaPro certification or higher with coursework in Reading, Writing and Math.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist students under teacher supervision in academic work.
• Maintain classroom structure and behavioral control as directed.
• Assist in processing and correcting student assignments.
• Supervise students during planning periods, MTSS/ET, IEP meetings, or short-term absences.
• Supervise before school, during recess, lunch, and dismissal.
• Enforce school rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
