Job summary

McGuire Elementary School in North Providence, RI seeks a dedicated Paraprofessional to support students daily. Schedule is 6.5 hours per day with a 0.5-hour unpaid lunch, during the school session.

The hourly rate ranges from $21.23 to $23.83 based on experience; starting immediately with the district. Eligible candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and prefer experience with differently abled students.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Experience with students who are differently abled preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and written skills.
• Ability to assist with physical needs and de-escalation when trained.
• Background check and fingerprinting required by district.

Responsibilities

• Assist students academically in all settings on a daily basis.
• Assist with daily living activities including mobility, feeding, hygiene.
• Provide escort and physical assistance as needed.
• Help students board and exit buses safely.
• Maintain records and Medicaid documentation as applicable.
• Support teachers with group lessons and adapt learning materials.
• Participate in discipline procedures and behavior management.
