Job summary

Qualifications

• Credentialed teacher with valid RI certification or eligibility
• ASL proficiency required for effective communication with Deaf/HH students
• Strong written language skills for IEPs, PLAAFPs, and progress notes
• Knowledge of RI special education standards, IEP processes, and state testing
• Experience working in Deaf education or related settings preferred
• Master’s degree preferred and ability to collaborate within a team

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction aligned with standards and IEP goals for Deaf/HH students
• Attend IEP meetings and serve as a special education case manager
• Develop and implement PLAAFP statements and annual IEP goals
• Plan, assess, and document progress using authentic and state assessments
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
