Job summary

ROCKY RUN ELEMENTARY within Stafford County Public Schools is seeking a Daily Building Substitute to support teachers on a 10-month calendar with 185 days. The role requires providing classroom coverage, following lesson plans, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Starting immediately, the substitute may perform duties of a regular teacher and should be able to adapt instructional approaches to student needs while meeting attendance and punctuality expectations in a non-exempt

Qualifications

High school diploma or its equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Valid teaching license preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide classroom support
Perform all duties of the regular teacher or assigned staff for the full day
Maintain organized instruction per lesson plans and communicate objectives to students
Use varied teaching techniques and adapt instruction to student needs
Develop and organize materials for diverse academic levels
Care for materials and maintain a neat, safe classroom environment
Promote positive interactions and student enthusiasm for learning
Engage in ongoing professional development and respond to information requests
Maintain attendance and punctuality; serve as a role model
Comply with district policies and perform other duties as assigned
