Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools seeks an elementary permanent substitute to teach PreK-5, including special education and resource classes. The role covers Art, Music, PE, Library, Foreign Language and/or Technology, with daily school assignments varying by need.

You will report to the assigned school and collaborate with faculty to deliver differentiated instruction. The position requires a Bachelor's Degree and eligibility for Virginia teaching license; drives are required.

Qualifications

• Must be flexible and willing to adapt to change on short notice.
• Extensive knowledge of Virginia Standards of Learning and available state and local resources.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares and delivers appropriate curriculum content to students.
• Establishes and communicates clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Deliver intervention services to all students based on specific goals and objectives established by Chesterfield County Public Schools and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Maintains order within the classroom setting in accordance with division guidelines regarding student behavior management.
• Communicates regularly with parents, administration, and other staff as needed.
