Job summary

Sherrod Elementary is seeking a building substitute to support daily classroom coverage. The role provides a flexible, temporary position to cover teacher absences and maintain continuity for students.

Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree or Alaska teaching certification are preferred but not required. Substitutes may be redeployed to other classroom roles as needed, with focus on dependable presence and adaptability.

Qualifications

• Building Substitute Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or an Alaska Teaching Certificate is PREFERRED to be a Building Substitute, but not required

Responsibilities

• Building subs sub daily at one school.
• If no positions to fill, sub as extra help at the school for the day.
• If a Building Sub does not have a job scheduled 7 days in advance, they may be assigned to open Classroom Teacher or Classroom Support roles.
• Building Subs do not sub for Food Services or Custodial Services.
