Job summary

Rocky Mountain Classical Academy in Colorado Springs seeks a Classified Substitute to provide temporary support for staff across instructional support, front office, food service and other classified roles. The substitute helps create a safe, welcoming learning environment while upholding the school's mission and high standards.

This part-time, as-needed role is non-exempt; daily rates of $160 for a full day or $80 for a half day apply, and benefits are not provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working in a school or with children preferred.
• Successful completion of required background checks and employment requirements.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, families, and the public in a courteous and professional manner.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student and employee information per laws and policies.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and flexibility to accept assignments as needed.
• Basic computer proficiency appropriate to assigned duties.
• Ability to adapt quickly to varying assignments, work locations, and schedules.
• Ability to uphold the mission, vision, and core values of Rocky Mountain Classical Academy.

Responsibilities

• Report to assigned work location on time and prepared to perform duties.
• Carry out responsibilities of the regular classified employee in accordance with school policies and supervisor direction.
• Provide courteous, professional, and respectful service to students, families, staff, and visitors.
• Support a positive school culture by modeling professionalism, integrity, and respect.
• Maintain appropriate supervision of students and promote a safe, orderly learning environment.
• Follow established school procedures regarding student safety, health protocols, and security practices.
• Maintain confidentiality of all student and personnel information.
• Complete assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
• Use school equipment, technology, and materials responsibly.
• Communicate effectively with administrators and staff regarding assignment expectations and completion of duties.
• Follow all Rocky Mountain Classical Academy policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature of the substitute assignment.
