Job summary

Jefferson Elementary in Faribault, Minnesota, is seeking a dedicated Elementary General Education Paraprofessional to support students in grades 1-5. The paraprofessional will collaborate with classroom teachers to provide instructional support, assist with routines, and foster a safe, positive learning environment.

The role is 5 days a week, 7:45 am to 3:15 pm, with a pay rate of $20.13 per hour. Qualified applicants should have a high school diploma and experience with elementary students;

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma and experience working with elementary-aged children.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
• Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions year-round.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities.
• Provide individual or small-group academic support in reading, math, and core subjects.
• Assist with classroom routines, organization, and transitions.
• Engage with students during non-classroom times (recess, lunch, specials).
• Encourage positive behavior using PBIS and support social-emotional development.
• Build caring relationships with students to support growth and independence.
• Communicate with teachers and staff as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by the teacher or administrator.
