Job summary

Bates Elementary in Weber School District is seeking a PT Chinese DLI Aide to support DLI curriculum for 1st and 2nd grades. The position assists the teacher, works with students individually and in small groups, and uses Chinese during instruction.

The role is funded for the 2026-2027 school year, 20 hours per week, 5 hours per day Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday, with no benefits. Requires bilingual Chinese proficiency and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Fluency in the Chinese language is required.
• Documentation of proficiency in Chinese is required.
• Ability to communicate fluently in Chinese is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction to individuals or small groups.
• Supports instruction and learning activities.
• Participates in meetings and in-service training programs as assigned.
• Assures student understanding of content/material taught and assists with reviewing assignments and test results.
• Speaks in the target language during instructional time.
• Attendance is an essential function of this position and requires in-person presence at the worksite.
