Job summary

Howell Public Schools is seeking a part-time Food Service Assistant Breakfast Helper at Hutchings Elementary School to support the morning nutrition program. You will assist the Kitchen Manager and Food Service Supervisor in the overall operation, ensuring students receive proper breakfast and friendly service.

Hours are 8:30–9:00 am, totaling about 0.5 to 2.5 hours per week. A high school diploma and basic math skills are required; position is non-exempt and requires regular attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; basic math skills test passed.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to interact professionally with staff, students and families.

Responsibilities

• Serve breakfast or assist with ringing students up.
• Ensure students select the correct meal components.
• Record leftovers on the Food Production Record (FPR) after breakfast.
• Store breakfast foods and supplies properly.
• Clean and sanitize the work area and serving station.
• Maintain regular, predictable in-person attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Kitchen Manager or Food Service Supervisor.
