Job summary

The Alhambra Elementary School District Alternative Learning Center in Phoenix, Arizona seeks a Behavior Interventionist-IA to assist teachers by delivering behavior interventions, monitoring student progress, and maintaining accurate records.

The role requires some college coursework or higher, with preference for prior experience with children. Starting date is immediate; nine-month position with district benefits and hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Two years of college with 12+ credits per term or an associate’s degree or higher, or a high school diploma with passing reading/writing/math assessment.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Basic knowledge of computer programs is desired.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high expectations for all students.
• Conduct individual and group intervention aligned with student needs.
• Observe and assist students experiencing difficulties and distribute/collect forms.
• Maintain effective classroom management per district guidelines.
• Attend training to support behavior management techniques and strategies.
• Monitor groups of students and adjust support based on data and needs.
• Maintain confidential student records and attendance documentation.
• Support character development and social-emotional initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
