Job summary

The Kansas City School District is seeking an Elementary Baseball Coach to lead practices and competitions across multiple sites in Kansas City, Missouri. The role emphasizes student-athlete development, safety, and alignment with district goals, reporting to Athletic Director and Building Principal.

Responsibilities include coordinating sport with MSHSAA standards, assisting in program logistics, supervising students, arranging transportation, and continuing professional growth through clinics

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sport philosophy and coaching
• MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles Course required
• Strong commitment to student-athlete concept and eligibility rules

Responsibilities

• Coordinate sport with full team in line with MSHSAA standards
• Assist in implementing athletic standards per MSHSAA Handbook and attend required sessions
• Assist in program coordination and logistics
• Supervise students at practices and contests
• Provide information for transportation, facilities, officials and game management
• Plan and schedule practice sessions to maximize athlete potential
• Prioritize safety and up-to-date training and injury management
• Model high standards of sportsmanship during practices and games
• Ensure return of school equipment per KCMSD handbook
• Pursue ongoing professional growth through clinics and publications
• Complete MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles and Sports First Aid Courses
• Fulfill 8 hours of PD: district mtgs 4hrs; school mtgs 3hrs; clinics 1hr
