Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of successful teaching experience (teaching level preferred matching position)
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid Mid-Management or Principal Certificate
• Certified in the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS)
• Pass Bilingual or ESL exam per TEA with required follow-up learning

Responsibilities

• Interpret MISD curriculum guides and assist in program implementation.
• Assist with administration of system-wide and special testing programs.
• Monitor and report teachers' methods of charting pupil progress.
• Support special programs such as Reading Recovery, gifted, bilingual/ESL and ARD processes.
• Follow state and local policies related to teacher appraisal.
• Conduct classroom observations and teacher conferences.
• Participate in school improvement activities as delegated by Principal.
• Provide two-way communication with superintendent, staff, students, parents and community.
• Supervise and support staff development and mentoring for inductees.
