Alexandria City Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Principal (Elementary) to work with the Head Principal at John Adams Elementary School. The role focuses on leading instructional programs, dual language models, EL services, and inclusive practices within an 11-month administration position.

The candidate will align curriculum with division regulations, supervise staff, develop schedules and budgets, and promote a positive, multilingual learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree in related field required.
• Virginia Postgraduate License with Administration & Supervision PreK-12 endorsement or eligible to obtain upon hiring.

Responsibilities

• Assist the principal with selecting, orienting, and evaluating staff.
• Develop, supervise and evaluate instructional programs, including dual language and EL services.
• Prepare the school budget and master schedule in a dual language model.
• Formulate and implement professional development activities.
• Interpret and enforce Board policies and school mission/goals.
• Oversee facilities, custodians and student welfare.
• Contribute to a positive learning climate and school community.
• Support efficient and effective work environment for staff.
