Job summary

Ontech Talent is seeking a skilled Electronics Technician for our Wisconsin PCB manufacturing team. You will oversee day-to-day operations, support of manufacturing processes and equipment, and aid in new product introductions.

Work with engineering and sales to troubleshoot issues, interpret schematics, perform test procedures, and lead continuous improvement projects to optimize setups and changeovers. Strong problem-solving and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 2 year Associates Degree in Electronics.
• Minimum: 5 years of technician experience in electronics/manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation and support of PCB manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Interface with associates to address and resolve manufacturing problems.
• Support test procedures and training for functional testing.
• Provide technical support to sales for new business opportunities.
• Set up, operate and repair manufacturing equipment including PCB assembly equipment.
• Support complex projects such as Electronic Control Box Builds.
• Lead continuous improvement projects related to manufacturing and process changes.
• Assist in failure analysis, warranty repair, and changeover optimization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reporting to the Production Manager, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operation and support of manufacturing process improvement, manufacturing equipment and maintenance and new product introduction for the printed circuit board business unit.
• Interface with associates and members of the organization to address and resolve problems with manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Work with individuals on the team with respect to functional test training and upkeep of the test procedures.
• Work with the sales department (internal and external) to secure new business providing technical support as required.
• Manufacturing equipment setup, operation and repair.
  • a. Board assembly processing equipment including programmable machines.
• Provide support for complex project based Electronic Control Box Builds.
• Work with all associates to support and manage work functions with regard to:
  • a. Daily production within circuit board manufacturing
  • b. Daily production within work cell building control panel assemblies
  • c. Setup of special project panel assemblies
  • d. Warranty troubleshooting and repair
  • e. Develop systems for optimizing machine set-ups and changeovers.
  • f. Test failure troubleshooting and repair
  • g. In-process defect analysis
  • h. Read, interpret and use schematics in the support of failure analysis.
• Define and implement continuous improvement projects related to manufacturing.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

Preferred: 2 year Associates Degree, Electronics 5 years technician experience
