Job summary

SimTech, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a mid-level Electronics Engineering Technician to join a dynamic team. The role focuses on fine pitch SMT soldering, cable assemblies, and prototype fabrication within a defense-oriented environment.

The position requires US citizenship with an active Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain/maintain the clearance. Strong technical and communication skills, and the capacity to work both independently and in teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with fine pitch surface mount soldering and cable assemblies.
• IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC-A-620 certifications preferred.
• Self-starter capable of working independently or in a team; strong communication.
• 3-10 years in electronics-related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform surface-mount and through-hole hand soldering and rework.
• Interpret schematics and follow defined plans.
• Fabricate cables and breakout boxes per drawings.
• Use hand and power tools for fabrication of breakout boxes.
• Produce high-quality prototypes from engineering drawings.
• Test and debug electronically using multimeters, X-ray, and other equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Develop procedures for operational tasks.
