Command Post Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician IV to build and troubleshoot prototype electrical and mechanical hardware in a fast-paced lab.

You will perform precise SMT hand-soldering, assemble boards and assemblies from schematics, and collaborate with engineers to drive designs toward manufacturability. The role requires 7–10 years of hands-on electronics experience, strong micron-scale soldering skills, and ability to read schematics and BOMs.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years hands-on electronics assembly, soldering and troubleshooting.
• Skilled hand soldering and rework of fine-pitch SMT under a microscope.
• Steady hands, strong attention to detail for micro-scale work.
• Able to read schematics, BOMs and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency with standard electronics test equipment.
• ESD control knowledge and quality standards.
• Clear communication with engineers and government personnel.
• Active Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Hand-solder SMT and through-hole components under a microscope.
• Assemble and wire prototype boards, cables, and electromechanical parts.
• Perform rework and repair using hot-air and reflow techniques.
• Troubleshoot boards to component level with test gear.
• Inspect work against standards and correct defects.
• Read schematics, BOMs, and assembly drawings.
• Collaborate with engineers to test and refine prototypes.
• Maintain records and provide status updates to the government lead.
• Maintain an ESDS-safe workstation and lab safety procedures.
• Manage parts and tools for prototype builds, flag shortages.
