Job summary

SAIC in Indianapolis, IN seeks an Electronic Technician to support the US Navy with hands-on assembly, repair, and testing of prototype electromechanical systems and complex PCBs. You will work from schematics and layouts, perform precision soldering, and contribute to data collection and documentation.

Requirements include an AA degree with 3 years of related experience or 6 years in electronics, familiarity with IPC standards, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• AA Degree in related discipline and three (3) years’ experience; additional years’ experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Six (6) years of practical electronics experience preferred (repair, maintenance, testing).
• Formal military electronics training from technical school or Class A/B preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, disassemble, rework, and repair PCB cards, flex circuits, sub-assemblies and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Perform board and component prep, including handling of sensitive components.
• Solder/desolder fine-pitch components including BGA rework.
