Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an Electronics Technician II to support installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic, audiovisual, and computer equipment within the district. The role includes ensuring the proper operation of fire and security systems across school sites and at district facilities.

Under general supervision, the technician will follow diagrams and verbal directions to install, diagnose, and repair gear, maintain inventory, and document service work.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, diagnosing, and inspecting electronics and AV equipment.
• Ability to follow specifications, diagrams, and verbal/written directions.
• Ability to maintain records and prepare reports on installations and services performed.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Install, diagnose, and inspect electronics and systems using diagrams and directions.
• Repair and maintain electronic and audiovisual equipment including cameras, radios, etc.
• Install and manage building cables and wiring; splice as needed.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies in assigned vehicle.
• Maintain records and prepare reports on installations, repairs, and services performed.
