Job summary

Gaston County Schools seeks an Electronics Technician to install, troubleshoot, and repair electronic systems in building infrastructure. You’ll review schematics and manuals to repair intercoms, alarms, and control systems, often serving as a technical expert within the team.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience in electronic repair, a high school diploma or GED, and a preference for an electronics degree. Some overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of electronic repair experience is expected.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and manuals for repairs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot complex intercom, fire alarm, and television network problems.
• Inspect life safety systems and manage bids for replacements.
• Install, service, and repair electronic equipment per specifications.
• Maintain records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.
• Provide support to other trades and teams as needed.
