Job summary

Aventra Defense Systems in Herndon, VA is seeking an Electronics Technician I to translate engineering designs into functioning hardware through electronics assembly, SMD reflow, and board testing under supervision.

You will work on prototype builds, cable harnesses, SMT lines, and documentation with on‑site tasks, strict ESD practices, and a growth path in defense hardware development.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years hands‑on electronics assembly experience.
• Demonstrated soldering skill on through‑hole and basic surface‑mount parts.
• Able to read electrical schematics, assembly drawings, BOMs and wiring diagrams.
• Familiar with ESD‑safe practices and basic bench tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform electronics assembly, PCB assembly, enclosure fitting, and general manufacturing tasks.
• Execute initial prototype builds, including SMD reflow and through‑hole/smd soldering.
• Populate and rework boards, including SMD rework and minor component replacements.
• Build cable harnesses and terminate assemblies per drawings and pinouts.
• Run SMT line operations and support conformity with test procedures.
• Document work performed, logs, and issue reports; maintain clean, safe workspace.
