Job summary

Tempo in San Diego, CA seeks a highly skilled Electronics Technician to join our team. You will assemble, test, troubleshoot, and maintain complex electronic systems with a focus on high power and high voltage equipment.

Work closely with engineers to ensure reliability, safety, and performance of high voltage panels, inverters, and control systems while complying with NFPA 70E and LOTO procedures. This role requires 3–5 years hands-on electronics experience, an associate degree in electronics

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years hands-on electronics manufacturing, testing, or maintenance.
  • 2+ years with high power (>10kW) or high voltage (>600V) systems.
  • Proficiency with advanced electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, hi-pot testers, and power analyzers.
  • Strong understanding of power conversion topologies (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC).
  • Ability to solder to IPC-J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Knowledge of high voltage safety practices, OSHA electrical safety standards, and proper PPE usage.
  • Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

  • System Testing & Calibration of high power electronic systems and HV circuitry.
  • Troubleshooting and repair down to component level in power electronics equipment.
  • Assembly & Installation reading schematics and wiring diagrams for HV panels.
  • Maintain safety through Lockout/Tagout and NFPA 70E compliance.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on high voltage test fixtures and production equipment.
  • Document testing data, repair histories, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with engineers to prototype new power systems and suggest design improvements.
