Job summary

City of Minneapolis seeks an Electronics Technician to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of radio communications equipment and parking systems across city facilities and field sites.

This role requires a diploma in Electronic Technology or related field and at least one year of hands-on repair experience, plus a valid driver's license. Hybrid work options are available, with some days in the office and others remotely.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited institution with a degree/diploma in Electronic Technology or a related field.
• One year of verifiable work experience in the repair of electronic equipment and accessories depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair radio communications equipment and wiring in vehicles and buildings.
• Troubleshoot and repair a broad range of electronics in City vehicles.
• Install wiring, set up, program and repair cellular devices and take calls regarding operational issues by users.
• Assist in installation of PARCS, meters, and meter related signage.
• Document and TAG equipment IDs and track locations in the database.
• Write service ticket reports and transfer costs for billing finalization.
