• Develop in-depth experience in areas of technology relevant to the design and development of Emerson’s Analytical Instruments products.
• Directly support sustaining, design and development electrical engineering activities within cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and test engineering groups.
• Utilize electrical design and development tools used in capturing circuit design schematics, laying out printed circuit boards, and performing circuit simulations.
• Provide sustaining support for designs that include analog circuits that interface with sensors, AC/DC power supplies, and communication circuits (e.g. Modbus, 4/20mA HART, Fieldbus)
• Perform electronics Design Verification Testing (DVT) activities and provide evidence to engineering peers that designs meet or exceed specification requirements and customers’ needs.
• Perform statistical analysis of laboratory test results and report findings to engineering peers.
• Troubleshoot Emerson systems and electronic circuits to a functional block or component level.
• Periodically support global electronics circuit card manufacturing and global product manufacturing by improving product designs, streamlining manufacturing processes, reducing manufacturing costs, and improving quality.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• 1800 hours of technical education or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
• Competency with standard engineering laboratory equipment, tools, and instruments (e.g., oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, digital voltmeter…)
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Legal authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this position
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
•Microcontroller based instrumentation design
• Analog design of industrial measurement equipment (measurement principles / implementations)
• ECAD – Cadence Allegro (Schematic / PCB)
• Familiarity with using LabView
• Potential for occasional travel (2x per year)
