Job summary

OKSI in Torrance, CA, is seeking an Electronics Technician (Experienced) to perform precision assembly, rework, and test support for advanced defense electronics in an ESD-controlled lab. You will work with the Electrical Engineering team on prototype builds, first articles, board bring-up, and rework, plus support to Production during build campaigns.

You will solder SMT and through-hole components, build prototypes from schematics, assist with debugging, wire harness termination, and enclosure

Qualifications

• Hands-on electronics assembly and rework in aerospace/defense environments
• Soldering SMT and through-hole under magnification
• Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot electrical faults
• IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-7711/7721 certification required within 6 months; onsite training funded by OKSI
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain organized, safe workspaces

Responsibilities

• Perform SMT and through-hole soldering, assembly, and rework of PCAs including fine-pitch work under magnification
• Build engineering prototypes and first articles from schematics and engineering direction
• Support board bring-up and debug with engineers using basic troubleshooting tools
• Fabricate and terminate wire harnesses and cable assemblies
• Assemble enclosures and install PCBA into chassis; support LRIP and rate builds
• Follow controlled work instructions and document changes; support ECO implementations
• Maintain ESD-controlled work areas and calibration/asset records; flag tooling improvements
