Job summary

Kelly Services is hiring Electronics Quality Technicians I for a brand-new Salt Lake City facility. You will inspect, test, and support production of advanced radio communication tech, ensuring each PCB assembly meets established quality standards.

The role includes hands-on training in Los Angeles, then onsite work in Salt Lake City. Aiming for diligent technicians with strong attention to detail and familiarity with drawing and testing procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of hands-on electronics manufacturing experience.
  • Basic soldering and electronic-component identification.
  • Experience with through-hole or surface-mount components.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed visual and functional inspections of PCB assemblies.
  • Inspect PCB assemblies under magnification per IPC J-STD-001 and workmanship requirements.
  • Identify defects, soldering concerns, assembly discrepancies, contamination, damage, and other nonconforming conditions.
  • Perform soldering, desoldering, and rework on through-hole and surface-mount components.
  • Identify electronic components and confirm correct placement and workmanship.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, circuit drawings, and work instructions.
  • Support production testing and record inspection and test results.
  • Use multimeters, microscopes, magnification equipment, hand tools, and basic electronic test equipment.
  • Maintain accurate electronic quality records and traceability documentation.
  • Follow ESD controls and approved procedures.

Help Establish Quality Standards at a Brand-New High-Tech Facility

Kelly® is hiring Electronics Quality Technicians I for an exciting direct-hire opportunity at a brand-new electronics manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In this role, you’ll inspect, test, and support the production of advanced radio communication technology designed to remain operational when traditional infrastructure is unavailable. These products primarily support military applications, along with other industries that depend on secure and reliable communication.

You’ll inspect printed circuit board assemblies, identify workmanship concerns, perform soldering and rework, document quality results, and collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure every product meets established requirements.

DIRECT HIRE

Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Schedule: Monday–Friday; specific shift hours to be confirmed
Pay: $30.00–$32.00 per hour, based on experience
Work Environment: Fully onsite in a clean, organized, air-conditioned facility

6-8 Weeksof Hands-On Training in Los Angeles

New employees will begin with approximately two weeks of training at the company’s established California facility.

  • Fly to Los Angeles on Sunday evening
  • Begin onboarding at 8:30 AM on Monday
  • Complete orientation, HR meetings, training videos, and a facility tour
  • Participate in hands-on electronics and quality training Tuesday through Friday
  • Fly home for the weekend
  • Return to California to complete the second week of training

This training provides the opportunity to learn established inspection methods, soldering expectations, testing procedures, quality standards, and documentation systems before transitioning into the new Salt Lake City operation.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Performing detailed visual and functional inspections of printed circuit board assemblies
  • Inspecting PCB assemblies under magnification according to IPC J-STD-001 and applicable workmanship requirements
  • Identifying component defects, soldering concerns, assembly discrepancies, contamination, damage, and other nonconforming conditions
  • Performing soldering, desoldering, and rework on through-hole and surface-mount components
  • Identifying electronic components and confirming correct placement, orientation, and workmanship
  • Reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, circuit drawings, assembly documentation, and work instructions
  • Supporting production testing and accurately recording inspection and test results
  • Using multimeters, microscopes, magnification equipment, hand tools, and basic electronic test equipment
  • Assisting with basic troubleshooting of electronic assemblies
  • Documenting defects, nonconforming conditions, repairs, rework, and inspection findings
  • Collecting and entering quality data for analysis and continuous-improvement activities
  • Entering inspection and production information into computer systems
  • Using programs such as Oracle, Excel, and Google Workspace
  • Maintaining accurate electronic quality records and traceability documentation
  • Following ESD controls and approved procedures for handling sensitive electronic components
  • Maintaining clean, organized, and ESD-safe inspection and rework areas
  • Supporting the calibration, organization, and routine maintenance of quality-laboratory equipment
  • Communicating quality concerns to Production, Engineering, and Quality leadership
  • Supporting investigations involving defects, test failures, or recurring workmanship concerns
  • Helping implement corrective actions and process improvements
  • Supporting consistent workmanship and product-quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
