Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company is seeking a Product Development Lead to manage a functional team of engineers in developing electronic products. The role reports to the Electrical Product Development Manager and is located in Simsbury, CT.

You will drive strategy, oversee design, testing, risk mitigation, and ensure alignment with company goals while mentoring engineers and maintaining high-quality standards.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in an engineering discipline; Electrical and/or mechanical preferred.
• Minimum 6 years in electronics product development with team leadership experience.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven track record delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Ability to interpret electrical specifications and data.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for project activities.
• Must have or be able to obtain DoD security clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop a functional team strategy to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Lead execution across requirements review, design, verification, risk assessment, and Proj content reviews.
• Align team objectives with business goals across cross-functional partners.
• Lead electronics product development from concept to production.
• Ensure projects meet schedule, budget, and metrics; track progress.
• Foster innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Establish and enforce engineering processes, RCCA, and knowledge management.
• Mentor engineers to enhance skills and career development.
