Job summary

Sypris Electronics LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide process engineering and tooling support for electronic circuit card assemblies and box builds. The role focuses on optimizing production flow, generating work instructions, and collaborating with design and quality teams.

Responsibilities include designing and troubleshooting mechanical/electro-mechanical processes, evaluating new materials, and leading production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree required.
• 2+ years process engineering in electronics manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with high-mix/low-volume production advantageous.
• Hands-on SMT, soldering and testing knowledge.
• Understanding PCB DFx and manufacturability is important.
• Experience with box build and electromechanical assembly.
• Familiarity with data collection and SPC.
• Lean/Six Sigma knowledge and application.
• Ability to interface with customers and design teams.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, troubleshoots and documents mechanical/electro-mechanical processes in electronics manufacture.
• Plans and performs complex process engineering assignments for major manufacturing processes.
• Evaluates new materials and process techniques for cost or quality impact.
• Prepares manufacturing work instructions for changes, new products or methods.
• Compiles and evaluates process control data to define capabilities for specs.
• Leads manufacturing and production readiness reviews.
• Reviews product requirements with design staff to ensure DFx and compatibility.
• Partners with Quality Engineers to address defects and implement corrective actions.
• Generates procedures, deviations and other process documentation.
• Evaluates and implements Engineering Change Orders.
• Analyzes returned products and suggests corrective actions.
• Evaluates new quality standards as required.
