Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an Electronics & PCB Component Engineer for a 12-month contract in Richmond, VA. You will drive lifecycle management of PCB components, review designs, and coordinate with EMS to ensure quality and on-time production.

The role requires 5+ years in PCBA manufacturing, experience with SMD/THD parts, PCB layout, Gerber files, and testing procedures such as AOI/ICT/JTAG. Strong multitasking and IPC/CE knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in electrical/electronics engineering or related.
5+ years in PCBA manufacturing with SMD/THD components, PCB layout and Gerber files.
Experience with PCB testing: AOI, AXI, ICT, FCT, JTAG and related tests.
Familiarity with IPC/CE standards and multilayer stack-up boards.
Proficient with SAP/Windchill and CAD tools; strong multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

Manage PCB/electronic component lifecycle with Product Engineers.
Evaluate new PCB parts and ensure specification and quality compliance.
Collaborate with contract manufacturers and EMS to resolve issues.
Participate in PCB layout reviews and suggest quality improvements.
Support NPI, quality, and change projects; assist testing and verification.
Analyze components for obsolescence and risk mitigation using advanced tools.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve component and production issues.
