Job summary

The Fountain Group in Richmond, VA seeks an Electrical Engineer II for a 12+ month contract with potential extension. The role offers an hourly rate of $55-65 on W2.

You will design equipment, systems, or installations and review engineering solutions to ensure components meet specifications. Collaboration with product engineers and EMS is essential for quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in electrical/electronics engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing and working with SMD and THD components, PCB layout, and Gerber files.
• Experience with PCBA testing procedures including AOI, AXI, ICT, FCT, JTAG, solderability and contamination checks.
• Knowledge of PCB guidelines for component placement and IPC/CE standards is a plus.
• Experience with multilayer stack-up boards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, and ideally PTC Windchill.

Responsibilities

• Managing the complete lifecycle of PCB and electronic components in collaboration with Product Engineers.
• Evaluating new PCB parts and ensuring build to specification and quality standards.
• Interacting with contract manufacturers and EMS to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Participating in PCB layout reviews and suggesting quality improvements.
• Contributing to new product introduction (NPI), quality, and change projects.
• Analyzing electronic components using advanced tools for obsolescence and risk mitigation.
• Collaborating with design engineers on prototype builds and functional, EMI, and reliability testing.
• Coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve component and production issues.
