Job summary

Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an Electronics NPI Operator to support prototype builds, operate SMT, selective solder, and wave solder equipment, and assist with manufacturing process development.

You will perform basic troubleshooting, inspect work to IPC criteria, prepare materials, and support packaging, shipping, and receiving for prototype products, while maintaining a safe and organized lab.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Support packaging, shipping, and receiving activities for prototype products and materials while maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient prototype manufacturing work area.

Job Description

As an Electronics NPI Operator, you will support New Product Introduction (NPI) prototype builds through equipment operation, material handling, and day-to-day production activities within the prototype lab. You will set up, prepare, and operate SMT, selective solder, wave solder, and related manufacturing equipment while supporting prototype builds and manufacturing process development. You will also perform basic troubleshooting, soldering and inspections, prepare materials and components, and support packaging, shipping, and receiving activities.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Set up, prepare, and operate manufacturing equipment including SMT, selective solder, wave solder, and related equipment.
  • Support NPI prototype builds and assist with manufacturing process development.
  • Perform basic equipment troubleshooting, basic soldering, and inspections using applicable IPC criteria, escalating equipment issues as needed.
  • Manage and prepare materials and components required for prototype builds.
  • Support packaging, shipping, and receiving activities for prototype products and materials while maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient prototype manufacturing work area.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience operating SMT, selective solder, wave solder, or related electronic assembly equipment.
  • Experience supporting NPI prototype builds or prototype manufacturing activities.
  • Experience with basic equipment troubleshooting.
  • Experience with basic soldering and inspections using applicable IPC criteria.
  • Experience preparing and managing materials and components for manufacturing builds.
  • Experience supporting packaging, shipping, and receiving activities.
