Job summary

Rockwell Automation in Wisconsin seeks a full-time Test Technician Level 2 for the 2nd shift (M–F, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM). You will perform set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits and assemblies, using automated test systems and standard instruments.

Overtime up to ~20 hours/week is expected in a fast-paced production environment. The role requires a high school diploma or technical electrical background with 2+ years of related experience.

We have an immediate hiring need for our full-time manufacturing Test Technician Level 2. This is a 2nd Shift role (M-F, 2:00PM – 10:00PM), in the 463 department with a 6% shift premium.

Job Summary

Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams. Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems. May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing. Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems. May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Uses documented work instructions with schematics and manufacturing execution systems to produce product that meets determined tolerances and specifications on semi‑routine assignments at a variety of workstations. Works with little direction and uses judgement to recognise the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice. This position executes automated electronic product test systems, performing basic evaluation of product performance anomalies and determines basic failure causal analysis of moderately complex power and digital electronic industrial machinery control components. Using automated test systems and basic electronic measurement tools, this position follows documented work instructions and on‑line procedures in conducting repetitive tests of similar electronic product. This position evaluates unfavorable test results under guidance from a higher level Tester and makes recommendations for product rework. A demonstrated understanding and logical approach to analyses and diagnoses techniques is required to execute tests and record results in appropriate data bases if results are not automatically recorded. This position will prepare product for test using documented and defined equipment set‑ups in semi‑automated test bays, understanding separated power structures within complexity and variation of PCBAs. The ability to utilise more enhanced electrical troubleshooting tools such as tracers, oscilloscopes, and 0 0 0 1 counter? need re? [text truncated?]. Understanding electrical properties of electronic components (IGBT, SCR, Diode, and Capacitor and interpreting and understanding product fault codes and how codes relate to potential functional or application anomalies is crucial to the role. Overtime is an essential function of this position which typically requires 20 hours of overtime/week. Actual overtime hours may vary.

Minimum Qualifications

You Will Have A minimum of High School Diploma/GED Electrical education (technical degree or otherwise) or equivalent electrical / test related experience (2+ years) Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
