Job summary

Rockwell Automation in Twinsburg, OH is hiring a full-time Machine Operator 1 for the 3rd shift (Sun through Thu, 10:30 PM – 6:30 AM) in the Electronic Assembly department with a 10% shift differential. You will set up and operate automatic and semi-automatic machines following supervisor instructions.

Responsibilities include SMT work, PCB layouts, labeling, and burning firmware into components, plus preparing reels, operating inspection equipment, and soldering as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Legal authorization to work in the US.

• Preferred: 1+ year related experience in machining or electronics.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Basic reading and writing.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate SMT machines and other machining processes.
• Set up and operate multiple machines and workstations at once.
• Work with components and PCB layouts for final product creation.
• Create and apply labels onto PCBs (manual/automatic).
• Burn firmware programs into electronic components using programming machines.
• Prepare reels and feeders for SMT machines; count materials and move to production line.
• Operate optical inspection machine and perform visual classification and repair of boards.
• Follow SOPs and established procedures; interact with peers to exchange information.
• Operate PTH machines to install components onto PCBs; maintain tolerances.
• Perform soldering and other duties as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

Sets up and operates a variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines used in the production of the company's product. Works from process sheets or written/verbal instructions given by supervisor to perform production tasks. Checks and inspects operation against predetermined tolerances.

RESPONSIBLITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Works with Surface Mount Technologies and other machining processes
• Set up and operate multiple machines and work stations at once
• Works with components and full PC board layouts for final product creation
• Creates and applies labels onto PCBs (manually and/or automated)
• Burns firmware programs into electronic components using programming machines
• Prepares reels and feeders for use on surface mount technology (SMT) machines; counts materials and moves to production line
• Sets up and operates optical inspection machine and performs visual classification and repair of rejected boards
• Follows established procedures on routine work and standard operating procedures
• Frequently interacts with peers and customers (typically internal) to exchange or present factual information
• Operates plated through-hole (PTH) machine to install axial, radial and DIP electronic components onto PCBs
• Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications
• Perform other duties as needed such as soldering

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Legal authorization to work in the US is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Preferred a minimum of 1+ years of related experience in machining or electronics field
• Basic Computer Literacy
• Basic Reading and Writing
