Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT, seeks an Electronics Mechanic to support the Transfer Car and Machine Shop Maintenance. The role requires general industrial electrical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot servo/PLC systems while following OSHA, NEC NFPA 70E guidelines.

The 2nd shift position involves wiring tasks, blueprints reading, and coordination with contractors, with weekend/emergency support as needed. Must have related experience or a diploma.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, or 2 years of related technical experience.
5+ years in industrial/commercial electrical field with troubleshooting of control systems.
5+ years' experience with motor control, PLC, and CNC machine troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair control systems including servo and PLC systems.
Read electrical, mechanical and hydraulic blueprints.
Capable of minor installation of temporary wiring systems.
Coordinate with outside contractors and equipment vendors; support weekend shifts and emergency needs.
