General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. is seeking an Electronics Mechanic to support the Transfer Car and Machine Shop Maintenance for Facilities Department. The role involves hands-on work with servo controls, PLCs, and various electrical systems in a shipyard setting.

Candidates must read electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic blueprints and coordinate with contractors. This 2nd shift position requires occasional weekend availability to support emergencies and maintenance tasks while complying

Competenze

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent or 2 years of related technical experience.
• Minimum 5+ years in industrial/commercial electrical field with troubleshooting and repair of control systems.
• At least 5+ years with motor control, PLC, and CNC machine troubleshooting.

Mansioni

• Troubleshoot and repair control systems including servo systems and PLC-based controls.
• Read electrical, mechanical and hydraulic blueprints.
• Assist with minor installation of temporary wiring systems.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and machinery equipment vendors.

Overview

Electric Boat is seeking an Electronics Mechanic to work in the Transfer Car and Machine Shop Maintenance for Facilities Department. Applicant must have general industrial electrical knowledge.

Applicant must also be able to support the below requirements while adhering to all OSHA regulations, company electricalsafety training practices and guidelines, NEC codes including NFPA 70E:

• Must be able to troubleshoot and repair control systems including servo control system, and PLC type systems.
• Must have mechanical and electrical knowledge of components relative to automation
• Must be able to read electrical, mechanical and hydraulic blueprints
• Must be capable of minor installation of temporary wiring system
• Must be able to work with outside contractors and machinery equipment vendors
• Must be available to support weekend work and emergency situations

*2nd Shift Position

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required or 2 years of related technical experience
• 5+ years’ experience in industrial and commercial electrical field including troubleshooting and repairing all typesof control systems
• 5+ years' experience with motor control, PLC, and CNC machine troubleshooting

Preferred:

• Trade or Technical Degree Program Certificate is desired
